Happy 2016 spreadsheeters! While my resolution SHOULD be to send more newsletters out to our loyal spreadsheeting fans, I would rather set the bar a tad lower in order to guarantee success (and my feeling of accomplishment). Thus my 2016 rezzie remains squarely in the “TBD” column for now.
On to business. In case you weren’t aware, there are only a couple of opportunities left to bet BIG on this NFL Season before Roger Goodell and his band of merry men and women pack it in for the year! And you know what that means… it’s time to organize a pool and fill out your 2015 NFL Playoff Brackets!
Once again, the folks at Excel Rain Man are here to help you wager on something you have virtually no control over, other than selecting from a few drop-down menus and of course rooting of the Steelers.

The playoffs start this weekend (Saturday @ 4:35 pm EST)… So Pool Managers, get your crew to download the 2015 NFL Playoff Bracket from the Tools >> Tips & Tricks page of www.ExcelRainMan.com NOW and save yourself from dealing with the ‘ish of tallying up winners.

- Depending on which seed you choose to win the Wild Card round this can potentially change who they play in the next round of the Divisional Playoffs… a nerdy thanks goes out to Allyssa!
- Our bracket pool has a new look this year. Many thanks to Laura. Her spreadsheet game is off the chain!
WAIT! THAT’S IT! Excel Rain Man’s New Year’s Resolution is (drumroll)… “to save myself from dealing with ‘ish!”
I suggest you do the same and check out how it works:
- Direct the pool entrants to download the 2015 NFL Playoff Bracket for free from the Tips & Tricks page of www.ExcelRainMan.com. Ask all participants to enter their Name where indicated on the form then they will use simple drop-down menus in the Bracket to select their picks for each game.
- After completing and saving their bracket, participants can send their completed brackets back to the Pool Manager, who can easily upload everyone’s 2015 NFL Playoff Bracket(s) into the 2015 NFL Playoff Bracket Manager (simple instructions for uploading brackets are provided in the Bracket Manager zip file). The Pool Manager has full control over the point system used for each round (i.e. First Round: 1 point per-win, Second Round: 2 points per-win etc.).
- As the playoffs progress, the Pool Manager can simply select each game’s winner (in the “Winning Bracket” tab) using the drop-down menus, and our Bad Ass Bracket Manager will tally the standings.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the use of Macros, the 2015 NFL Playoff Bracket Manager will not work properly on Mac Computers. However, individual Brackets can be filled out by Mac and PC users.
