Hello!
Today I want to drop a little knowledge beyond the spreadsheet enrichment that we typically provide.
My spreadsheet lair (aka my office) is filled with loads of computer screens. Trust me, once you have dual monitors, you can’t go back to just working on a single screen. So for all of you out there who are still rocking one monitor, it’s time to treat yo’ self to a docking station and multiple monitors in your office and/or home. Seriously, studies show that it improves productivity immensely.
That said, in order to grow the Excel Rain Man client base, I am often on the road giving demos or in between meetings at some fabulous coworking spaces (thank you Get Croissant). So… when I am away from the office, how do I get the sleek and mobile dual display action you see below? Well my friends, this is achievable by using a touch of ingenuity and some easily attainable gear…
Goods Needed
a. iPad
b. Laptop (Mac/PC)
c. USB Connector
d. Mountie Clip
e. Duet Display App (installed on both iPad and PC/Mac)
Voila… the Duet Display app turns a tethered iPad or iPhone into an extended extra display for your Mac or Windows PC. And the Mountie Clip neatly mounts your iPad to the laptop monitor. Now I can have my email in one screen and my spreadsheets in the other! BOOM… your office space just got way more portable!
Also, it’s time to upgrade your Natty Boh for a Strong Island Iced Tea and get ready for the Belmont Stakes! And you guessed it, we have updated our Pony Auction Manager… a simple spreadsheet that allows pretty much anyone to manage his or her very own Horse Auction, and can be found on the Tips & Tricks page of www.ExcelRainMan.com!
The Excel Rain Man 2016 Belmont Pony Auction Manager fulfills my OCD spreadsheeting needs for the following reasons…
– It eliminates the annoying chicken scratch used in typical handwritten pony auction games
– It can be easily printed and/or emailed to your crew
– You can enter in the horses that finished in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place after the race and the winners names and most importantly earnings will automatically be populated in the spreadsheet… now that’s transparency!
Side note: since the Belmont Stakes contenders may change, we have made it so you can update the horses in the spreadsheet if need be.
