1. Football Survivor Pool
Are you ready for some Spreadtastic Football??
While unfortunately there will be no Madden this year (tear) and your hater bosses have slashed your access to CBS Sportsline in the cube, there is still a way to procrastinate, GRIDIRON STYLE! Introducing the Excel Rain Man Football Survivor Pool! Look as though you are working on a bad-ass spreadsheet at work (yeah right), while discretely feeding your ravenous hunger for gambling… So genius right?
Here’s the deal.
Rules:
– Each week pool participants will choose one football team to win, straight up (i.e. no spreads)
– Once a participant has chosen a team, they will be unable to choose that team for the remainder of the season
– If your team wins, you move on to the next week
– The league manager can choose single or double elimination style and how to handle ties in NFL games (are they counted as a win or a loss in your pool?)
Logistics:
– A Pool Manager is needed to coordinate this “spread-tasterpiece” and will enter in selections each week for the participants
– Each Pool Participant will email his or her weekly selection to the pool manager (prior to the first game of the week)
– Stakes are up to you really. Cash or just bragging rights… its all good!
– Get creative with team names! My husband’s go-to Team Name for over 5 years and throughout several different leagues is “A New Direction” (say it fast, “A Nude…”) He is still thrilled with himself every time the name is read aloud. Very mature, I know.
– Talk smack… OBVI!
Download your Excel Rain Man Football Survivor Pool, for a mere $10, in the Tips & Tricks section of ExcelRainMan.com. The Excel Rain Man Football Survivor Pool only needs to be downloaded one time for each pool, presumably by the pool manager.
Note: The Excel Rain Man Football Survivor Pool works on any PC that has Microsoft Excel installed. Sorry MAC daddies and divas. We’ll give you some love on the next!
GO STEELERS!!!
Football Recipe
Below is one of my fave go-to football recipes from my pal Adrienne Johnson. It is sooo easy and you will love it!
Buffalo Wing Dip
2 (8oz) pkg Cream Cheese (softened)
1 (8oz) btl Blue Cheese Salad Dressing
5 oz of Hot Sauce (mild – add more for hot)
2 cups of cooked and chopped Chicken
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Mix the Cream Cheese, Blue Cheese Salad Dressing & Hot Sauce until combined. Add chicken. Pour mixture into pyrex or ceramic dish. Top with cheddar cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for about 30 minutes (or until bubbling).
