Golf + Spreadsheets = Par Fore the Course!
Next to spreadsheets, my favorite thing to do is hit the links. I am just back from 16 days of vacation in Maine… and believe it or not, more than 16 rounds of golf! Since I am going through vacation withdrawal (a feeling I’m sure many of you are familiar with), I think it is important to still spoil ourselves a little.
As a “summer is still not over” present, and because you can always golf somewhere, Excel Rain Man is bringin’ it with the 2010 Golf Gambler Workbook! Trust me… this is way cooler than the preppy handbook.
We have incorporated elaborate golf games from our 2nd Annual Maine Madness tournament (Team HanRob vs. Team Jennesse) into easy scoring spreadsheets for your golfing pleasure.
Just go to the Tips & Tricks section at ExcelRainMan.com and download the FREE Golf Gambler & Guide which consists of the 2010 Golf Gambler Workbook and the 2010 Golf Gambler Rules and see for yourself how to maneuvsky through this PC and Mac-ready masterpiece. Although, if you want to practice outside, we recommend the best weekend golf breaks available this summer to have the most fun possible with your loved ones.
Once you check out this workbook you will realize all of the fun competitions you can have with your struggling 4some. Whether it is match play or stroke play, you can incorporate points for: Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Survivor Ball, team members simultaneously getting a par or birdie on a given hole, you name it!!
It should be noted that my husband and I thought we won round 2 of Maine Madness 2010 (“The Battle of Bridgton”), but unfortunately, the spreadsheets don’t lie. Team HanRob both parred the 15th hole for an extra point to tie the round. Thus without this spreadsheet the trophy “may” have ended up in the wrong hands this summer.
BTW, if you totally heart the games incorporated into this workbook, but would like to customize them for your next outing, just Submit a Request and we can help you create a spreadsheet for your golf competition. That way you only have to worry about finding the overpriced golf ball that you just hit in the woods.

Small Biz Spotlight
In a city that is nothing if not proud, inhabitants will tell you the best of everything resides right here, including the best coffee, which you can thank us later for finding at Jack’s Stir Brew.
Owner Jack Mazzola is not only the unofficial Mayor of the West Village, but his coffee is unlike any other… probably because he invented an entirely unique brewing process, which includes a device that oxygenates the ground beans as they brew, reducing their acidity, and making a cup of joe incomparable in flavor and that won’t leave you any bitter coffee aftertaste or coffee breath! Jack also found that cold milk kills the flavor in hot coffee so only steamed milk is allowed. Seriously, this guy has pulled all the stops in serving up the best coffee and teas including my favorite: the “Green Hornet”–a green tea oasis of refreshment that has served as my obsession for quite some time :).
No matter what you choose, an order at Jack’s Stir Brew is something you can feel good about. Jack’s custom blend may be top secret, but what we do know is that it’s all certified organic and Fair Trade. This includes all of their teas and delicious snacks, too! Everything from the milk to the beans is made using supplies from local farms and are 100% organic making them that much more refreshing. So aside from the deliciousness of the coffee, teas, and treats, Jack’s also gives you the chance to make a positive and affirmative choice in support of the community and local farmers.
Jack’s Stir Brew has locations in the West Village, South Street Seaport, and in East Hampton. (Jack knows New Yorkers are still New Yorkers even when vacationing in the Hamptons.) And if you’re not near any of those three (addresses found below), don’t worry! Thanks to the beloved Internet you can order Jack’s Stir Brew to and from anywhere you’d like! I ordered (and finished) 2 lbs of Jack’s coffee for my vacation in Maine! So whether you’re in NYC or Omaha, Nebraska, everyone needs a little pick-me-up sometimes… see for yourself why we’re crazy for Jack’s Stir Brew!
Locations:
West Village – 138 W 10th St (b/w Greenwich Ave & Waverly), NYC
South Street Seaport – 222 Front St, NYC
East Hampton – 154 Montauk Highway, Amagansett, NY
