Spreadsheet First Impressions
Seeing as though it is formatting time this Excel Season (whatever that means), it is important we make sure that our spreadsheets are at their fighting weight (i.e. lean, mean, waxed and properly formatted)! No matter how brilliant your spreadsheet may be, if not formatted appropriately, your masterpiece may come out looking sloppy and unkempt, and thus unlikely to get a 2nd date, so to speak. So put away your mouse, and here is a quick beach read of Formatting keyboard shortcuts:
For starters, to display the Format Cell Dialog Box:
PC shortcut: hold Control; select 1
Mac shortcut: hold Command; select 1
Here are some quick ways to format your cell content without touching the mouse. I am also relieved to tell you that the PC and Mac shortcuts are the same (so I can rest my digits while typing this newsletter):
