Spreadsheets are moving to BK
After 5 years (where has the time gone) of being headquartered in the West Village, Excel Rain Man has moved to Brooklyn! It is of no real surprise considering Brooklyn has become the artisanal hub for Chocolates (Mast Brothers), Beer (Brooklyn Brewery), Handmade Crafts (Etsy), Popsicles (People’s Pops)… and now Spreadsheets of course!
Whether you are relocating your home/office or are merely just in the mood for a closet cleanse… donating to Goodwill is a great way to declutter. As you can probably imagine, someone as OCD as I enjoys a clean workspace and home, which in a New York City/Brooklyn apartment means donating to Goodwill on a semi-regular basis. Thus, Excel Ninja, the great John Coomler, created a spreadsheet to manage Goodwill donations… and as our 1st spreadsheet gift that is officially “Made in BKNY” … you can now download the FREE Excel Rain Man Goodwill Donation Template from the Tips & Tricks page of www.ExcelRainMan.com!!
The Goodwill Donation Template is easy to use:
Donation Template worksheet
– fill in your name and date
– select the dropdowns for each set of items you donate
– fill in the corresponding count and cost of those items
– follow the orange instructions at the top of the worksheet and the yellow comments in the cells as a guide
– print the donation template
– drop off your donation bundle at goodwill and you will get a receipt for your goodies… which I scan and attach to my template for tax time!

Valuation Guide worksheet
– includes the current acceptable valuation range for your donations
– should the acceptable donation range change for these items, you are welcome to update them in this section
